LRAA Rules to Share with Your Guests

Greetings from your LRAA Board. Having guests stay at your house? Please ask them to take a moment to review these LRAA Rules.

SPEED LIMIT
The speed limit on Association roads is 15 MPH maximum. This is for both public safety and dust control. The 15 MPH speed limit applies to all users of Association roads, including visitors and contractors.

GARBAGE & RECYCLING
Dumpsters and recycling are located on the corner of Meek Road and Taxiway Road. When disposing of your trash and recycling please make sure to follow association guidelines, lock up the dumpsters behind you and close the doors. We have a long-standing issue with bears getting into our trash.

Recycling guidelines can be found in the link below, but some quick differences from other locations that you might not be aware of are as follows. Plastic bags of all kinds are not accepted here, this means empty your recycling into the blue bins and please throw your plastic bag away or reuse it. Glass is not accepted here, and film plastics are not accepted here.

We have a consistent problem of people putting things that are not recyclable in the blue bins. This leads to fines for the association, and our garbage company threatening to discontinue service. Please do your part. If in doubt, throw it out. It is more important that we have some recycling here at Lost River, than none at all.

OUTDOOR FIRES
When outdoor fires are allowed, unattended outdoors fires are not allowed anywhere within the Association. Unattended fires are not allowed on lands under DNR jurisdiction, which includes LRAA. Outside fires should not be left actively burning, smoldering, or smoking. Individuals within the Association are responsible for knowing and practicing safe fire management practices. Please do NOT burn outside if you are not able to actively supervise your fire and put it out correctly. More information here: https://www.dnr.wa.gov/OutdoorBurning

FIREWORKS
Fireworks are NOT ALLOWED within LRAA at any time. The use of fireworks is prohibited by county statute in unincorporated Okanogan County, and therefore prohibited in Lost River.

BURN BAN
The county-wide burn ban will most likely be instituted at the end of June. Check the LRAA website or the Okanogan County website for updates as June 30th approaches. The Association follows both the county ban and the DNR/Forest Service ban on fires – whichever one occurs first. The Association will put out signs at both entrances to the Association as soon as possible after the burn ban is announced. However, everyone within the Association is expected to follow the county and /or Forest Service rules on open fires whether or not the LRAA signs are posted.

AIRSTRIP
When planes are coming and going, do not drive on the far ends of the runway on Arnold Road or Harris Road. Stop and look both ways before driving through these areas. The LRAA Airstrip is an active runway if walking or playing with pets on the runway, keep an eye out for planes and move off the airstrip when they are taking off or landing. At no time should you drive across the airstrip.

RESPECT PEOPLE’S PROPERTY
When staying at LRAA you should be aware that the individual properties of owners are not communal property. There are two places marked River Access on the corner of Rainbow and Mercer Road and near the end of Buck Circle. These designated spots are where you can access the river. Otherwise, you should not enjoy other people's river access, lawns, or furniture without their expressed permission.

QUIET HOURS
Okanogan County Code 9.16.030 defines disturbing the peace as between 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. During these hours please keep noise levels to a minimum.

Thank you!
